After being initially drawn by the shadows of trees she spotted on grass, she did a lot of delving into a technique thatconversely didn't present the chosen object in a two-dimensional form on canvas. The object becomes a representation that is its own while the canvas is carrying its own interpretation painted by the object, especially in the case of a living item or something perishable, such as fruit or people. Alexa's style of painting is very ephemeral. Only the images of her work are preserved. Painting and photography are closely connected to form two-dimensional flat surface which is trompe-l'oeil. Certain places the third dimensions can be seen, for example, around the eye or on the hair. Meade sometimes incorporates her painted figures into the 3-dimensional world around her. They interact within this self-created universe. By doing so, Meade has dissolved the boundaries between photography, painting and performance.
